Meet construction industry of Turkey at Yapi-Turkeybuild 2018 edition
Construction is one of Turkey’s key industry sectors that continuously boosts the country’s economic growth. The Turkish Government highlights the importance of infrastructure developments such as high-speed rail, undersea tunnels, suspension bridges, airports, and highways under Build-Operate-Transfer models. While Turkish companies win these contracts for major infrastructure projects, they subcontract high-tech solutions and value-added services to international and local business partners. Turkey’s building and interiors businesses are also active exporters of building materials and solutions and a lot of them are well established in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, as well as in the Middle East and North Africa.
In addition to exports and infrastructure projects, urban housing development in major cities is another reason for Turkey’s economic growth. The nation's economic heart, Istanbul, is home to the largest building, construction materials and technologies exhibition Yapi-TurkeyBuild which will celebrate its 41st edition this year. Yapi - TurkeyBuild brings a whole week (8-12 May) with 30 + events, 90+ industry speakers covering innovation, technology, market information, trends, case studies and problem solving.
Among the key speakers are famous architects and designers, to mention just a few: Louis Schulz and Maria Lisogorskaya, founding partners of Turner Prize winning architecture studio Assemble; Dr. Doğan Hasol, engineer, architect, and a key figure in founding Yapi – Turkeybuild; Achim Menges - architect and professor, who is well known for his efforts in developing design processes using biometric engineering, evolutionary computation, and computer-aided manufacturing.
In 2018 Yapı – Turkeybuild Istanbul is preparing to bring over 900 exhibitors together with 90,000 visitors in 11 halls and the outdoor area.
