Solar panels that work in the Arctic
A group of Russian scientists, led by Russian Academy of Sciences scholar D. Strebkova, have developed and patented industrial solar panels that can be used in extreme temperature conditions such as in Siberia and the Arctic.
Standard solar panels do not work below -40°C, but in using a special silicone gel, the scientists have developed a range that can operate in temperatures from +110°C to -60°C.
This is extremely promising for the Russian Far North and Siberia, which rely on natural gas, coal, and oil for energy.
The new solar panels will be produced by Innovatiks-SK near Anapa in Southern Russia.Next Article :
