Project of the Week: Stadium of the 26th Summer Universiade, Shenzhen, China, GMP
Picture the scene. You’re in Shenzhen, China, out for a midnight stroll along a moonlit river bank when, over the horizon, your eyes are wowed by a soaring corona of stars – not up in the heavens, but at a terrestrial level.
Sitting like a bunch of celestial orbs brought down to earth, and chiselled into cuboid, crystalline form, is the Stadium of the 26th Summer Universiade designed by architects GMP.
