WorldBuild Awards: promoting new technologies and cutting-edge design
As part of WorldBuild Moscow/MosBuild, the largest industry exhibition of building and finishing materials, this year we launched the WorldBuild Awards for the best and most innovative products on show at the exhibition. We took this step together with the WorldBuild365 business platform, dedicated as it is to construction, HVAC, architecture and interior design. These awards aim primarily to draw the attention of professionals to innovations in design and technologies appearing in the industry and showcased at WorldBuild Moscow/MosBuild.
The beginning of the WorldBuild Awards ceremony
The WorldBuild Awards attracted considerable interest from companies. This year over innovative 150 products competed for the prestigious awards. And there could have been many more entrants. Unfortunately, a number of companies turned up too late to participate in the competition. They had only intended to showcase new products at the exhibition. The nominees for the awards had one common feature: they were all so different and unique: from “intelligent toilets” and wooden sinks to coil meshes and quick-dry coatings. And each innovation had a chance of been the best.
Juries and the voting system
The winners were chosen by two juries: professional and public. The professional jury included architects, designers, experts in construction and climate control equipment, and also industry journalists. The members of the professional jury selected the most innovative products that complied with the designated criteria of the competition. Here they paid attention to technical innovation, the uniqueness of the design and the importance of innovation for the sector. By contrast the voting of the public jury was mainly subjective, as any user of the portal worldbuild365.com or visitor to the exhibition could vote.
Awarding of winners according to the version of the professional jury in the category "Pools, saunas, SPAs and related products"
The choices of the professional jury were disclosed at the end of March 2018. However, some intrigue remained, as the public voting continued almost right up to the actual awards ceremony held on 5 April as part of the business programme of the exhibition WorldBuild Moscow/MosBuild 2018.
The awards ceremony was held on the third day of WorldBuild Moscow/MosBuild 2018. Two members of the professional jury spoke at the event: the famous Portuguese interior designer Nini Andrade Silva and also Alexey Polikarpov, Brand Director, Interior and Gardening Publications Group, Burda Publishing House. Nini offered warm words of congratulation to the winners, while Alexey stressed in his speech that the building industry could have done with these awards a long time ago as part of the exhibition WorldBuild Moscow/MosBuild 2018. Thanks to the awards, everybody had an opportunity to see and assess on their merits the newest solutions and technologies. Valentyna Podgorodetskaya thanked on behalf of ITE the professional and public juries and representatives of the companies that submitted entries for the WorldBuild Awards, for their participation and help.
