Turkish construction: 25 brands to watch
Turkey’s building sector is in a good place right now. Vast projects like the third Istanbul airport ($35bn), the Eurasia Tunnel ($1.5bn, completed in 2016) and the Yavuz Sultan Serim bridge ($2.5bn) have kept the market moving at the top end. And the sector is also on good foundations – 8% more building permits were issued in 2016 than the year before, and a new law making it easier for foreigners to buy Turkish property has brought money from abroad in to the sector.
This is the backdrop for the 40th edition of Yapi - TurkeyBuild Istanbul – the meeting place for the building industry. Over 700 companies are exhibiting this year, and we have picked 25 to keep an eye on.
